Discomfort

Several days ago, I took part in Hong Kong Student Association's first GIM because I really wanted to reduce stress from school (I had 5 classes to attend that day!!).

At first, I feel a bit uncomfortable frankly because I have been hanging out with people from other nationalities for several years and I do not get used to be surrounded by a group of Hongkongese people.

Perhaps that is the reason why I feel like Hong Kong is no longer my hometown, but a place that I used to love and live.

I feel more comfortable meeting and hanging out with non-Hongkongese people. Soon or later, I met two younger-than-me girls in the meeting. They are from Malaysia and China. To my surprise, the Malaysian girl could speak Cantonese language! (Coolness)

Since two of them and my friend are able to speak Chinese language, I took this chance to show off (well I mean practise a bit lol) my Mandarin language skills.

I think I am not going to attend any meeting hosted by HKSA anymore because to be honest they were playing orange-banana-what-so-ever game in the first meeting, which is ridiculously uninteresting.

(Sigh)

1st Week

The first week of school finally comes to the end. Frankly, i don’t get used to go to class on Friday because Friday is always a holiday to me; but anyway, unlike last semester, this semester all my courses are totally exam-oriented (I guess it is a good thing).

Well…the first week just swung by, I didn’t really have a chance of meeting a lot of new friends; instead, I hang out with my old buddies that I have met since last semester. Perhaps I should start to engage more in SAs’ activities and events this semester.

Hmm…well I guess that’s about it cos there is really nothing much to say about my first week of school cos all the teachers just simply gave us a syllabus-related lecture.

Oh yeah by the way, I have booked the flight ticket to go back to Hong Kong this summer. It’s time to go back home and experience some heat lol alrighty that’s about it!! Bye!!

Wedding Daze...Time Doesn't Matter, But Your Determination Does

Coming back to Buffalo from Toronto, to be honest, I have no idea what should I do these days before going back to school on the 14th. Cleaning my apartment? Buying groceries? Or Learning to cook? Ain't my cup of tea.

I rather staying in a coffee shop, enjoying my favourite chocolate chunkie cookie and mocha latte, and listening music while surfing the net or watching movie. And yeah...I want to share one movie that I have recently watched.

Well...It's an American movie called "Wedding Daze". The main characters are Anderson (Jason Biggs) and Katie (Isla Fisher).

Well...It's basically about a guy called Anderson killed her girlfriend by proposing marriage to his girlfriend (Well...Technically he did not kill her but somehow his girlfriend died because of his sudden marriage proposal.

Later, he was having breakfast with his best mate in a restaurant. His mate advised him to look around and find another perfect somebody in order to get over Anderson's girlfriend (Well...Anderson used the word "Perfection" to describe his girlfriend...Weird to me because personally I do think the word "Perfection" does not exist in my dictionary).

So, Anderson listened to his mate's advice and subsequently looked around the restaurant to find his "perfection". Soon or later she saw a waitress (Katie) and asked her "Will you marry me?" She said, "......." (You gotta watch the movie lol...)

Well...After watching the movie, I find out something interesting. Maybe to some people, marrying someone that you probably know that person for like couple days is bullshit (pardon my language...or I should say "Too Wild?"). I think it is true too; but...does time really matter?

Perhaps, time doesn't matter, but your determination does. Anderson determined to propose marriage to the random waitress and subsequently he received an unexpected result.

I am not sure I have guts to do that but I am pretty sure if I do that, then I will spend my entire marriage getting to know more about my "wife", which I think it's interesting.

P.S. I went to Toronto for couple days a last week. So maybe next time I shall write something about my travel experience in Toronto.

From 2012 to 2013

Happy New Year! I wish everyone a great year! I cannot believe that 2012 just swung by my life and it came to the end suddenly. If I have to conclude the entire year in 2 words, I would say “BUSYNESS” and “RELAXATION”
In first half of 2012, I would say I have the BUSIEST semester that I have ever had in my college year. At that time, I realised that I did not want to stay in California anymore. I was thinking, “Considering myself as an international student in the states, if I have a chance to transfer to a university to continue my adventure, why should I stay in California?” While other students were thinking of applying Cal State (California State University) or UC (University of California), I was busy on applying universities from other states.
During my final semester in my junior college, I still had 6 courses 18 credits (2 courses 8 credits were Honour courses). In the meanwhile, I had to keep on contacting the universities regarding to the specific requirements and documents. All in all, I had a really stressful semester and thanks God that it ended finally.
After a fun yet short summer season, my mum reached Los Angeles. I said “bye-bye” to my beloved California with no regrets and flew to New York afterwards.
In second half of 2012, i would say I have the most RELAXING semester that I have ever had in my college year. Although I had 16 credits, I could not believe that I only needed to attend 6 classes per week. But this is not the most surprising part. The most surprising part is I just needed to go to school 3 days a week! Cool huh?
Well just because I had the most relaxing semester, it did not mean I had the funnest semester. I have to say that Buffalo, NY is a boring town actually. There is not many things to do in Buffalo. So I guess that’s why I went to school like everyday to meet people around me.
Of course, apart from school-related stuffs, I went travelling as well! Last year Christmas I travelled to New York City with a quirky girl, a k-pop fanatic and a random what-so-ever Korean guy. Even though I spent only 10 days in NYC, I had the funnest moment in NYS, like sightseeing, eating good food (as a matter of fact it is the most important part in our journey), vintage-and-indie hunting and that’s about it!
2013…Hmm I hope I could get everything done this year. About New Year’s resolution…frankly, I still do not have idea. My beloved Japanese friend told me that my New Year’s resolution is “MAKE A GF”. I have no comment about that but at the same time I wonder, “How come my Japanese friend is so cute?” (I am not talking about her appearance haha)
Enough talking my 2012 and 2013. How would you conclude your 2012? What do you expect for 2013? Again, I will continue sharing my own stuffs, being a direct person and more importantly shopping online with no cost in half year!
